From the 25th to the 28th of September in the city of Valencia, Spain, the 32nd Annual Congress of the European Association of Vascular Surgeons - ESVS 2018 32nd Annual Meeting took place. More than 1,500 participants who came to take part in the congress were registered. The scientific program included: interactive symposia led by international experts in vascular surgery, Fast-track presentations, poster presentations selected from a large number of abstract materials that scientists from all over the world send to the EVSAnnual Meeting annually, many hands-on master classes and a work-shop, and also sections with live cases.

This year, vascular surgeons from the AngioLife Center presented the materials of their scientific research.

Alexander Voloshin presented the scientific work: "Long-term quality of life results in patients with peripheral arterial disease after endovascular treatment." Increasingly, international forums pay more attention to the quality of life of patients, rather than the results of operations, which is very pleasing, since far from always after surgical operations the quality of life of patients can be called “good”.

Alexander Suzdalenko presented the report “EVLT and Foam-Form sclerotherapy as a C6 stage varicoseTreatment” dedicated to the treatment of the most severe forms of varicose veins (C6 according to CEAP) using complex methods of conservative treatment of EVLK and cryosclerotherapy. Also, our surgeons visited master classes and round tables on modern strategies in the treatment of venous thromboembolism, minimally invasive methods of treating varicose veins and chronic lymphatic venous insufficiency.

During the congress, I was able to meet and exchange experience with vascular surgeons from the countries of the European Union, England, Japan, Canada and neighboring countries. Separately, I would like to note a delegation of scientists from Kazakhstan, very open and nice people, highly qualified vascular surgeons with well-established angiosurgical service in the country.

Next year's ESVS 2019 Annual Meeting will be held in Hamburg, Germany. See you there.
