After 70 years is it too late to treat varicose veins? Of course not!
For many people, life after 65 is just beginning, there is a lot of free time, added care for grandchildren, etc. However, in most surgical departments you could be told that it’s too late to treat varicose veins after 70, that at this age there will no longer be an effect and possibly a large number of complications after surgery. Of course, if we are talking about open surgery (venectomy) under general or spinal anesthesia, then 100% is a health risk.
So what to do with varicose veins in patients who are 60, 70, 80 years old, really there is no choice? THE CHOICE IS!
Thanks to modern technology, in the AngioLife Vascular Center, endovascular methods of treating varicose veins are used for patients of all ages, without limitation! Endovasal laser coagulation (EVLK) and / or radiofrequency ablation of varicose veins (RFA) - surgical procedures that are performed WITHOUT ANNESTICITY, WITHOUT CUTS AND WITHOUT SEAMS. There are no age restrictions for these methods and therefore, they are used for patients of all ages without fear. The AngioLife Vascular Center has extensive experience in treating patients older than 70 years, the oldest patient who underwent the EVLK procedure in our center was 83 years old!
